How do CMS-WS Lite and CMS-WS differ? 

Think of CMS-WS Lite as the tip of an iceberg, and CMS-WS as the entire iceberg itself.

CMS-WS Lite is exclusive for QNAP NAS users and uses the QTS network. It offers functions such as content updates for up to 1000 connected players and management for multimedia files, with the limited use of default fonts and clocks only. Templates can be created directly on the CMS-WS Lite server too. Multimedia playback supports most web languages, such as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS. It also supports MP4 video files and JPEG, GIF, BMP image files. 

The CMS-WS full version includes all the functions mentioned above but offers even more. It is designed for all users and can create unlimited user accounts with different access rights and password security. Other functions that make media player management easier include the capability of creating five-layer groups to organize and monitor all connected players and the view of all connected players in a tree structure. It also supports more video formats, such as MPEG, AVI, WMV and other video and audio codecs. 

However, the biggest perk of CMS-WS is the central scheduling function, which gives users the ability to schedule a playback calendar or timetable and playback frequency. This function also lets users arrange emergency messages with programs, playlists, videos, images, and HTML.
